Provide two or three lessons you can take away from the course. How were you challenged? In what way have you been changed? What would you like to take with you?

This course has provided me with a different set of tools that I can take and use in my own classroom. The first thing that I took away from this course was the need for professional development and how there is a big world of options for this if we just take the time to research it. Another thing that I personally took away was diving into technology that is unfamiliar to me. If I see a website that I am unfamiliar with, I often times overlook it and try to find something easier to use. There are so many websites that can be a great benefit to my students if I just take the time to learn how to use them and implement them into my own classroom. This of course will be a challenge but if we aren’t challenging ourselves then we aren’t providing new challenging opportunities for our students. After this course, I am going to make it a point to research new technology that is on the rise and what best practices can be used in my own classroom to support my students. I have enjoyed being a part of this course and learning along with all of you!

There will be a diverse population of students' that will walk through an educator’s classroom doors, and it is vital for the educator to provide the necessary tools for each student to succeed socially, academically, and emotionally. Each student’s success will look differently, and the educator needs to provide the best set of tools including access to technology to support each learner. Throughout ones teaching career, there will be students' who enter your classroom who will need assistive devices to cater to their needs. One way that this can be done in the classroom would be to implement audio books and have them available to students. This would benefit students' that require auditory support. This can be done through tapes, CDs, or QR codes on the iPad. There are speech to text devices as well that could record the educators lessons and turn them into written notes. These technology tools need to be made available to all students' and educators to allow for better success rates in the classroom.
